1. Who We Are

The Loftin Method app is operated by Loftin Method LLC. When this policy says "we," "us," or "our," it means Loftin Method LLC. Our contact email is david@fitforthem.app.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information needed to generate and maintain your personalized nutrition plan.

Information you provide directly:

• First name (used to personalize your dashboard)
• Height and current weight
• Age
• Goal weight
• Wake time and work mode (office or work from home)
• Daily weight log entries you choose to record
• Custom meals and meal preferences you configure

Information collected automatically:

• A device identifier stored in a browser cookie (a randomly generated string like fft-abc123). This is not linked to your name, email, or any account. It is used solely to restore your plan if your device's local storage is cleared.
• Subscription status (active, trialing, canceled) provided by Stripe after a payment event.

What we do not collect:

• Email address (unless you contact us directly)
• Location data
• Device identifiers beyond the cookie above
• Browsing history or behavior outside the app
• Any health data beyond what you directly enter

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for one purpose: to operate the Loftin Method app and provide your personalized plan.

• Your height, weight, age, and goal weight are used to calculate your daily calorie target, meal plan, and step goal using our proprietary formula.
• Your device ID is used to sync your plan across your devices and restore it if local storage is cleared.
• Your weight log is used to display your progress and calculate weekly adjustments.
• Your subscription status is used to determine whether you have active access to the app.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating your plan.

4. How We Store Your Data

Your plan data is stored in two places:

• On your device — in your browser's local storage. This may be cleared by iOS or your browser under certain conditions (low storage, app reinstall, etc.).
• On our server — in Netlify Blobs, a cloud storage service provided by Netlify, Inc. Data is stored on servers in the United States. It is keyed to your device ID and is not publicly accessible.

Subscription and billing data is handled exclusively by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your credit card number, billing address, or any payment details on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

We share data only with the following service providers, and only to the extent necessary to operate the app:

• Netlify, Inc. — hosts the app and stores your plan data in Netlify Blobs.
• Stripe, Inc. — processes subscription payments and billing.
• Anthropic, PBC — powers the AI-assisted meal suggestion feature. Prompts sent to Anthropic do not include your name, weight, or personal identifiers.

We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

6. Data Retention

We retain your plan data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you cancel your subscription and request deletion, we will remove your data from our servers within 30 days.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of the data we hold about your device
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw from the service at any time by canceling your subscription

To exercise any of these rights, email us at david@fitforthem.app with the subject line "Data Request." Because we do not collect email addresses during onboarding, please include your device ID (found in the app under Why It Works → Device ID) so we can locate your data.

8. Children's Privacy

The Loftin Method is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at david@fitforthem.app and we will delete it promptly.

9. Not Medical Advice

The Loftin Method provides general nutrition and fitness information based on formulas derived from publicly available research. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for the advice of a licensed physician, registered dietitian, or other qualified healthcare provider. Do not use this app to diagnose or treat any health condition. Always consult a qualified professional before making significant changes to your diet or exercise routine, especially if you have a pre-existing medical condition.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission and access controls on our server-side storage. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use the app on trusted devices.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
